Meet the PlayStation 3, generally known as PS3 and developed by Sony videogaming Entertainment. The PlayStation 3 offers strong competition to Nintendo’s Wii and Microsoft’s Xbox 360 as part of the seventh era of computer game consoles. The remote Sixaxis and DualShock 3 comprise the two PS3 controllers available.

The title ‘Sixaxis’ is a merging of ’six axis’ which suggests directional movements. It’s also intended to signal motion sensitive functions. These remote PS3 controllers can operate for up to 30 hours by charging them to the maximum capacity. The battery is fully interchangable and Sixaxis are provided with the instructions of how to go about the process.

The main feature of Sixaxis PS3 controllers is the capability to read both translational acceleration as well as rotational orientation along three dimensional axes.

The Sixaxis PS3 controllers have LED outlets on the side. On the apex of the controller youwill find numbered LED port indicators which are four in number. These identify and distinguish multiple remote PS3 controllers. As you switch on the PS3, you can enter the menu showing the battery charge of all the PS3 controllers which are in sync, by accessing the PS button. And this is only one of the options shown on the screen

All PS3 Controllers employ finer analog sensitivity than DualShock 2, the immediate predecessor to DualShock 3 discussed earlier. They build the eight bit precision of the DualShock 2 to a 10 bit precision. The shell underneath the L2 and R2 buttons has been taken away and converted into triggers. The range of travel sets the degree of analog input instead of the range of pressure. There is a jewel like PS button incorporating the PlayStation brand in place of the Analog mode button which can be discovered on previous dual analog releases. This allows the controllers to change inputs, turn the consoles or the controllers on or off, access the home screen, and more.

Finally, The DualShock 3 is a vibration feedback gamepad by Sony for PS3. The DualShock 3 was primarily introduced as a secondary peripheral for the classic PlayStation. An enhanced PlayStation release came with the controller that was originally incorporated in the Sony twin Analog Controller. The DualShock 3 remote PS3 Controllers come with all of the features of Sixaxis along with vibration capabilities.
