The videogame market, just like every other industry, is a very competitive area. High profile consoles and developers are constantly striving to promote their goods and launch their products in front of the competition. One way to forge ahead in this sense is by generating exclusive products which aren’t found on other consoles. These games are frequently so anticipated that in some intense cases gamers may buy a console simply to access a certain game. Some Playstation 3 exclusives have just that power.

It’s true to assert that Playstation 3 exclusives have suffered a bit late ly. Their competitors, Microsoft’s Xbox 360, have wrestled a few Playstation exclusives from Sony and earned the right to host them with their console too. The high profile case here would be Final Fantasy XIII, which both thrilled Xbox fans but seriously irritated Playstation fans. More have gone before too, including Tekken 6 and Tomb Raider Underworld to name a couple.

But PS game-players shouldn’t be too disappointed, they have still got a host of amazing Playstation 3 exclusives to enjoy. Little Big Planet, despite being released years ago, is still alarge success and continues to win custom with PS Store extras. The Ratchet and Clank franchise is still a highly prized exclusive too, along with Uncharted, which is lauded as one of the finest new franchises in recent gaming.

Anticipation is also growing for a range of impending Playstation 3 Exclusives too. Heavy Rain, the innovative new ‘interactive movie’ is exclusive to this console, together with praised RPG White Knight Chronicles. And of course, who could forget the big hitter himself- Kratos. Indeed, God of War 3 returns to our consoles soon- only on Playstation 3.

Plenty to get excited about then. Sony retains a number of excellent exclusives, and the Playstation 3 is still potentially the most impressive and technically skilled next gen console.
