UFC 2009 Undisputed

The other day I decided to play some old PS2 games that I hadn’t played in awhile but when I took them out they appeared to be all scratched up. When I put them in the system I had constant loading errors, which can really piss a person off. Please don’t make the same mistake I did and let this happen to your PS2 – copy games before they get scratched and save yourself a lot of money.

So I was determined not to let this happen again, considering I bought a $50 game and didn’t want to ruin it, so I decided to figure out how to backup my PS2 (copy games), After doing a lot of research and spending way too much time on a boring subject, I found a couple of ways to copy games for the PS2. Copy games with software vs. copying games with freeware.

Copying Game for PS2 – Copy Games with Software

Out of the two different methods I found, using third party software was the easiest way to create a backup of PS2 games. Out of all the reviews I read it seemed that most people were happy with Copy That Game and GameCopyPro so I decided to give Copy That Game a shot. When you buy this software you are able to download everything that you need including some video instructions that help you get everything set up. This was a great benefit for me as I hate reading through boring material. Follow the video instruction, wait for the disk to burn, and you will have perfect 1:1 copies for your PS2. Copy games with this method for a simple solution.

Copying Game for PS2 – Copy Games with Freeware

If you want to go the free route to backing up games for your PS2, copy games with dvd decrypter (this method assumes you have a mod chip installed). This can be a much tricker path to copying games as some online games won’t and you may run into some new copy protection that you can’t get around. To make this work you have to do the following:

1) Download and install DVD Decrypter
2) Pick games for your PS2, copy games to your hard using Mode>ISO>Read, then click decrypt.
3) After this is done take out the game and burn a new disk using Mode>ISO>Write.
4) Test out your new copy.

In both cases you will need to make sure you have a dvd player/dvd burner that can read the format of your games. A lot of the newer dvd drives have this capability already but it is worth double checking out before you start.

All said and done, both methods worked though the process is a lot simpler using professional game copying software because you are able to get around all the latest unbreakable copy protection games come with. What are you waiting for? Copy ps2 games today!
